POEM: *Sunset* by Salau Geraldine

I heard the sound,
Like that of a ferocious lion,
Mother earth opened up her belly,
The pen and table,
Has made way for blood and iron,
Where is our salvation?
Who is our salvation?

We have been made to dance,
The dance of a wild man,
The sun has refused to rise,
The earth's boom
Has made way for gloom and doom,
Where is our salvation?
Who is our salvation?

While our fathers paced and quivered,
Our mothers ran water-eyed,
The hunters have returned
Covered in anguish,
Like a sack of ashes,
The rain laughed at us again,
The beautiful blue sky,
Has made way for red,
The vultures have made a feast
Over our heads!
Where is our salvation?
Who is our salvation?
