3 dead as clash erupt between Igbo and Huasa traders at Ariaria market, Aba(graphic photos)

At least three people have been killed in Aba, Abia State, in clashes that started at the popular Ariaria Market.

The clashes began in the afternoon mostly between Igbo traders and their Hausa counterparts, they said.

According to eyewitness that spoke to Premium times, one witness said the crisis started after a member of the Hausa community stabbed and killed an Igbo trader who reprimanded him for urinating near his store.

Other Igbo traders rounded the assailant and lynched him, the witness said.

But other witnesses and residents said news of the incident spread to other parts of the town and a mob gathered and attacked the Hausa community around the abattoir located at Ogbor Hill area of Aba.

"From that point matters degenerated. Soldiers in nearby barrack are shooting and at least one Igbo trader was hit and killed by a bullet," the witness recounted.

According to a Facebook user who was giving live updates of what was going on she said while the soldiers shot at the boys, the bullets turned to sand

NOT AGAIN!! Caitlyn Jenner to pose naked on the cover of Sports Illustrated

This is not a joke. Former Olympic gold medalist Bruce, now Caitlyn Jenner will pose naked on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine  to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his win. He set a world decathlon record at the 1976 Montreal Summer Games while still known as Bruce Jenner.

A source told Us Weekly the 66-year-old I Am Cait star will appear on the cover of an upcoming SI issue wearing "nothing but an American flag and her Olympic medal" to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his historic decathlon victory. She's excited about it

After a rumored breast augmentation surgery last March, before Jenner's public revelation, an associate of the former star athlete told RadarOnline that Jenner "went with a smaller [breast] implant because he didn't want to look ridiculous."

About Jenner, who was once the epitome of American masculinity, the person said, "He's not allowed to lift anything, and he has to wear a bra 24/7, but he's expected to resume normal activities in the next six weeks."

I really don't know whether to address Caitlyn as 'he' or 'she'... I'm as confused as their identity

Photo: Obasanjo donates his chimpanzee named ‘Patience’ to animal conservationists

Why on earth did the Obasanjo name his chimpanzee 'Patience'???

Ex-president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has given his chimpanzee named Patience to conservation organisation, Pandrillus Foundation,

The Cable reports that the founders of the animal centre Liza Gadsby and Peter Jenkins said that the ex-president decided to put the three-year old animal in the care of Pandrillus because he understood the special care needs of chimpanzees.

Speaking on the generous gesture from the former leader, the management of Pandrillus released a statement saying:

"Seen here at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Wildlife Park in Abeokuta – from left: Peter, Liza with Patience, and Mr. President. As President of Nigeria, he visited Drill Ranch in 2001, and made a follow up visit in 2011. President Obasanjo recognises the special care needs of chimpanzees and therefore decided to place 3 year old Patience with Pandrillus so she can grow up in the forest as part of the large chimpanzee group at Drill Ranch Afi Mountain. Thank you, Mr. President!

"Patience is a fantastic chimpanzee who has been well cared for by the staff of the OOPL Wildlife Park. Once she has completed her medical screening in Calabar, she will join the group at the newly completed Nigerian Chimpanzee Center – located at Drill Ranch Afi Mountain in Boki LGA of Cross River State."

WISDOM!!How Igbo Mothers chased away Fulani herdsmen in Owerri

This Igbo mothers are really wise people,

Fulani herdsmen met their waterloo in Ihiagwa and Nekede, both in Imo State when some women decided to stand up against the AK47 wielding Fulani Herdsmen.

The activities of Fulani herders had become so unbearable in the immediate environs surrounding Nekede, Ihiagwa and Federal University of Technology, Owerri. The herders freely moved their cattle into farms destroying as they trotted along.

The women in these two communities couldn't stand the combat ready Fulani herdsmen. They convened a meeting and brainstormed a way forward. The women had no gun, knife or any weapon that could match that of the Fulani marauders. Then out of the blues, one genius idea dropped into their mind.

Women understand that grazing animals cannot stand the smell or hotness of chili hot pepper. The women decided to try out their genius idea. They decided they were going to spread red-hot-dried chili pepper around their farmlands and see the outcome. They tasked themselves asking every woman in the community to donate one 1 derica cup of grounded pepper each.

They assembled a huge weight of pepper, organized themselves in groups and embarked on a night crawling job. They spread the pepper across all farms in their area and waited. The next day, the marauders came as usual with their cows. But this time around, they noticed something was wrong with their cows. Within 30 minutes of invasion, their cows started lowing and running amok.

15 cows died! The Fulani Herdsmen fled and sanity returned to Ihiagwa and Nekede. Imagine what this would mean if Benue, Taraba, Enugu, Delta, Imo, Abia, Anambara and other States embark on this novel idea. Imagine what would happen if these States boycott taking on these Marauders headlong.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Jos, Mr. Nuru Abdullahi, said it's the constitutional right of Fulani herdsmen to move freely in Nigeria movement.

Abdullahi said,

"The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria guarantees freedom of movement for every citizen of the country; this includes the right to live, work and carry out any legitimate activity in any part of the country. If and when you breach this freedom, then, the law should deal with you. So, asking anybody not to go to any part of the country is unconstitutional."
